IIER

The Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform (IIER) is an independent research institute based in Baghdad. Our mission is to assist Iraq in its transition to a modern market economy by promoting reform based on sound research and case studies. Among our goals, we seek to structure a system of formal property rights, and to assist in the development of an effective civil society by promoting vigorous public debate among stakeholders about the future of Iraq.

During my research I came across the IIER. The IIER is an indigenous Iraqi organization that was formed in 2004 to serve as a think tank and forum where Iraqis could analyze and discuss the direction of their economic and budgetary policies. About IIER team & SENSE Training:

SENSE is, to my knowledge, the most sophisticated "peace game" currently in existence. As you know as well as anyone, one of the principle challenges that any organization wishing to conduct SENSE simulation must face is its substantial infrastructure requirements. These extend both to the computers and software, and the team of properly trained people who are needed to administer it. IIER, with the essential support of USIP's Baghdad Office, has so far been the only NGO which has successfully administered SENSE, anywhere in the world
