Assessment of the reform for the banking sector in Iraq

The Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform held a discussion circle on Saturday 7th May 2011 to assess the policies to support reform in banking in Iraq. The event was attended by representative of state bank, the Central Bank of Iraq, public banks and Association of Iraqi Banks in addition to a number of expert and academics from finance, banking and economic backgrounds.  The purpose of the event was to inform the media and the public of the process of banking reform in Iraq, to evaluate the policy, its success, achievements and the challenges it is facing currently and will be facing in the future as well as the event shed some light on the process of state banks restructuring.
